1) What Boar is (and is not)
Boar is an online platform that helps users find and connect with other users who are already travelling and may be willing to carry small items or documents. Boar is not a courier, freight forwarder, logistics provider, postal operator, carrier, escrow agent, payment processor, or party to any agreement between users.
Users arrange all details directly with each other using the single contact method shared on Boar. Boar does not:
- take possession of any item or document,
- store, package, ship, deliver, track, or verify delivery,
- provide in-platform messaging,
- handle payments, escrow, refunds, or chargebacks,
- provide insurance or guarantees.
2) Eligibility
You must be 18 years or older to use Boar. By using Boar, you confirm you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
3) Your account and accuracy
You agree to:
- provide accurate information (including listings and reviews),
- keep your account secure,
- use only one contact method as required by the platform,
- not impersonate others or mislead users.
We may suspend or terminate accounts to protect users, enforce these Terms, or comply with law.
4) User roles and responsibility
Boar may be used by:
- Senders/Requesters (seeking transport),
- Travellers/Carriers (offering to carry),
- Recipients (receiving items/documents).
All users are solely responsible for:
- deciding whether to engage with each other,
- confirming identity and trust however they choose,
- agreeing terms (timing, handoff, any reward, cancellation),
- ensuring items/documents are lawful and properly declared,
- complying with all applicable laws (including customs, export/import rules, sanctions, and documentation requirements).
5) No employment, agency, or partnership
Users act on their own behalf. No user is our employee, agent, partner, or representative. We do not direct, control, or supervise any travel, handoff, or delivery.
6) Prohibited items and unsafe use
You must not use Boar to request, offer, carry, or facilitate any prohibited or unlawful item, including (non-exhaustive):
- illegal drugs, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia,
- weapons, ammunition, explosives, fireworks,
- hazardous materials (including aerosols, flammables, corrosives),
- counterfeit or stolen goods,
- animals or animal products where restricted,
- prescription medicines or regulated medical products,
- alcohol and nicotine/vape products where restricted,
- cash, bearer instruments, gift cards intended to function as cash.
High-value items: We strongly discourage using Boar for high-value items (e.g., luxury watches, precious metals, high-value jewelry). If you do so, you do so entirely at your own risk.
Personal documents: Boar may be used for documents such as contracts and certificates. If users choose to transport personal identification documents (including passports or national IDs), they do so strictly at their own risk. Many jurisdictions impose strict rules and serious penalties related to identity documents.
Travellers should refuse any sealed package they are not comfortable inspecting. Senders must truthfully disclose contents and comply with all documentation/customs requirements.
7) Sanctions and restricted jurisdictions
You must not use Boar in any way that violates economic sanctions, export controls, or trade restrictions. This includes engaging with sanctioned persons or facilitating prohibited transfers into or from restricted jurisdictions.
8) Listings, reviews, and content rules
Boar allows users to post public listings and leave reviews/ratings. You agree not to post content that is:
- illegal, deceptive, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or discriminatory,
- invasive of privacy or includes someone’s personal data without permission,
- intended to facilitate wrongdoing, scams, or prohibited items.
Reviews: Reviews must be honest and based on real interactions. We may remove reviews that violate these Terms or appear manipulative, fraudulent, or abusive.
9) Intellectual property
Boar and its branding are owned by us. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or misuse the platform.
You own the content you post (listings, reviews, profile info). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, reproduce, and format your content only as needed to operate and improve Boar. We will not use your content for marketing without your permission.
10) Safety, moderation, and enforcement
We may (but are not obligated to) monitor, remove content, or restrict access to Boar. We may suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion, including where we believe there is risk to user safety, fraud, legal non-compliance, or repeated policy violations.
To report abuse or safety issues, contact [email protected].
11) Disclaimers
Boar is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- we make no promises that a match will occur, that any user will respond, or that any item/document will be delivered,
- we do not guarantee timing, condition, legality, or success of any user-to-user arrangement,
- we do not verify users and do not warrant their identity, intentions, or reliability.
12) Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Boar is not liable for any:
- loss, theft, damage, or delay of items/documents,
- missed handoffs, cancellations, disputes, or non-performance,
- fraud, misconduct, or unlawful acts by users,
- indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages.
If we are found liable despite the above, our total liability for any claim related to Boar will not exceed GBP 100 (or the minimum amount permitted by law), except where liability cannot be limited by law (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence).
13) Your responsibility and indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Boar harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- your use of Boar,
- your listings, reviews, or content,
- any item/document you request, carry, or receive,
- your breach of these Terms or the law.
14) Changes and updates
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
15) Governing law and courts
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection laws require otherwise.
